What is WORKMANFIT? It is a training program developed by Functional Movement Specialist John Workman using *Functional Movement Based Exercises to develop strength, stamina and mental toughness. Classes are kept small so that we can focus your needs to create a safe and fun workout. We believe in the principle of muscle confusion so that you will never do the same workout twice. *Functional Movement Based Exercises supports the body’s natural way of functioning in which groups of muscles engage in the seven basic functional movement patterns: squat, push, pull, gait, bend, twist, and lunge.  Life is unpredictable and unstable. What is FIT (Functional Interval Training)? (read more)

(FIT) takes all the best parts of High-Intensive Interval Training (HIIT) and applies them in tested, extremely safe functional movement workouts. According to the Mayo Clinic, FIT “trains your muscles to work together and prepares them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work, or in sports”. With FIT, you begin with the simplest movement of any given exercise and develop your muscle the proper way. Eventually you will be able to do more advanced versions of the same exercise while you burn fat, build lean muscle, improve heart health and increase movement efficiency.

You will begin by learning to perform each Functional Movement Exercise and will gradually build up your intensity, duration and frequency. FOAM ROLLER & STRETCH (All Levels) (read more)

Foam roller and stretch classes can improve flexibility, reduce muscular stiffness, speed up recovery, alleviate pain and help prevent injuries. Foam rolling is an inexpensive and effective form of self-myofascial release. It helps loosen muscles and promote mobility, making it a smart — if occasionally uncomfortable — way to up anyone’s fitness game.  For those with injuries or mobility limitations, John will provide some simple modifications.

 

What Fitness Level Are You?

Level 1 = Beginner Fitness

Perfect for someone just getting back into their fitness program, returning after an injury or looking for a class which is low impact. A beginner’s routine usually consists of a low intensity, modified versions of exercises with little variety, and shorter duration workouts

Level 2 = Intermediate Fitness

The choice for the more experienced trainee with little or no limitations looking for a little extra push. The experience level of the intermediate exerciser also has knowledge of proper form, modifications, and understands a variety of workout styles to suit their goals.

Level 3 = Advanced Fitness

The best option for those who have been training consistently and are looking for more intense workouts with some higher impact variations and more intense strength moves. Advanced trainees use advanced exercises that challenge their bodies for increased strength, power, speed, and extra intensity to achieve added results.
